Sofia's Birthday (2022)

An earnest Jason and his two braggadocious mates make their way to Jason's girlfriend Sofia's apartment, wolf whistling women in the street, degrading girls they've slept with and mocking Jason for his romantic and un-macho feelings. Jason eventually shakes them off and arrives at Sofia's apartment to prepare a perfect birthday meal in the sweltering summer heat. After Sofia puts one foot wrong Jason's paranoia and insecurity begin to bubble, leading to him accusing and shaming Sofia and completely losing his mind. Unable to reckon with his self-destructive behaviour he storms out into the street, descending into an absurd rage. He eventually finds a moment of calm, and back inside the apartment he and Sofia embrace as he promises her he'll change. But Sofia reminds him that he's said that before.
