Awakash (2021)

This story is set in a flat in the city of Pune. After nearly 10 years of turbulent marital life, Sujata is forced to return to her ancestral home. Beyond the doorstep, however, lies a cold and unresolved past which she shares with her sister Swati over the death of their father. Time crawls by and Sujata and Swati find themselves thrown into a labyrinth of past memories and traditions which were passed onto them by their parents. Sujata struggles to come to terms with the change in her identity, the demise of their parents and the life Swati has built for herself. At each turn, Sujata grapples with instances that force her to reconsider the values and society which has moulded her and Swati's upbringing and question their relevance in the present cultural landscape.
