It was led by Father Gapon and it was a turning point when not only was the Tsar not there, but the royal guard fired upon the marching protesters and killed many. It then turned Father Gapon against the Tsar and the Tsarist regime. It was a pivotal point that destroyed the belief that the Russian peasants had that the Tsar and royal family did in fact care about the people and turned the nation against the Tsarist regime for good. Father Gapon then became an anti-Tsarist revolutionary.
