Welcome to Pink Lounge. Home to vivacious and fierce unrulies who face all odds in spite of their freedom at stake. Inspired by true events set before the 2014 Same-Sex Prohibition Act in Nigeria. The film is set in a year before the SSMPA bill was passed into law, criminalising same sex unions and activities in the country. Many scenes in the film are inspired by true events, depicting how safe spaces were formed prior to 2014 for persons who were deemed unconventional, queer or artsy. The film will also highlights the concept of House culture. Unlike the depiction on TV and Films like Pose, Legendary, Paris Is Burning and more. House Culture in Western Africa grew as a result of found spaces and queer youths seeking shelter, solace and freedom. The project is set for release in October 2022 with an exclusive first look at the Maxivive show during Milan Fashion Week on 23rd of September 2022. The film will premiere on the same runway and line up with luxury brands such as Versace.
