The Smog (2022)

Curtis returns after his morning run, coughing and hacking. His boyfriend Ritesh suggests that maybe he shouldn't run when it's smoggy. Ritesh checks out the air quality index app on his phone and goes outside to investigate. Immediately thereafter he's attacked by Curtis, who pins him down and tries to breathe some kind of toxic haze into Ritesh's mouth. Ritesh takes a hit of his asthma inhaler, which miraculously cures him. Ritesh barely escapes the apartment, and six months later, we find him on a mountaintop overlooking the San Fernando Valley.
