Smile

Francesca is a floundering romantic trying to make sense of the chaos. After a botched family birthday celebration, we learn Francesca likes to live her life in the outfield. Feeling a heightened danger in affection and attachment, she now likes to remain observational. However, her growing sense of distance from her mother and sister becomes an inconvenience when she finds herself in need of a ride home after a major dental procedure. Feeling exiled from the help of her family, she calls in a favor from her ex-boyfriend instead. When the proceeding car ride home rekindles buried feelings, all of the things left unsaid make their way to the surface.
