Behind Our Scars

Behind our scars is a coming-of-age drama, exploring the concept behind "why people do bad things." The story follows Billie, a 16-year-old victim of bullying. Whilst unconscious in hospital after a violent attack, she's visited by her ex-best friend, preparator and guilt-ridden Charlie. As he falls asleep beside her, Billie and Charlie meet in the unconscious mind. Charlie, now a 12-year-old boy, takes her for a journey through a series of bad memories, leading Billie to understand Charlie's behavior and the reasons why he's the person he is today. When she awakens, Billie confronts Charlie. Offering forgiveness and the chance to make amends. Charlie defenceless, vulnerable, and remorseful learns that although the past is certain, the future can always be rewritten.
