The documentary follows the tour of the Aboriginal country music band, the Country Outcasts, led by Harry and Wilga Williams, to Central Australia, visiting Alice Springs and small communities. The band consists of English-speaking Aboriginal people who have lived an urban life in regional New South Wales and Melbourne, whereas their audiences in the Northern Territory are used to living in Aboriginal communities (some very remote), speaking their own languages, and practising their culture.
