Pedro Urraca. Franco's policeman and dog hound, Gestapo agent E-8001 and Vichy Regime. He is a key member of a group of secret agents at the service of the Franco-Petàin-Hitler triangle. Nicknamed "The Reds Hunter" he was responsible for the persecution, arrest and plundering of numerous anti Fascist Spaniards exiled in France and French Jews during the Nazi occupation,"unfortunates who drag their defeat around the world" in the words of Urraca himself. Among its victims are the former president of the Generalitat Lluís Companys, the socialist journalists Julián Zugazagoitia and Francisco Cruz Salido or the former Republican minister Joan Peiró, all of whom were handed over to the Francoist fascist government and executed after summary trials. The former president of the Second Republic Manuel Azaña was also one of his main targets, although he managed to escape his attempted arrest at gunpoint in the town of Montauban. Extorting and cheating Jews fleeing the Nazi Holocaust, Urraca amassed a large fortune. Protected at all times by the Franco regime, he managed to avoid a death sentence issued against him by the French government after the end of World War II. This is the story of a sinister and ambitious character told from the perspective of his only granddaughter. One of the main executors of the relentless persecution to which the Franco regime subjected, in alliance with Nazism, an enemy already defeated and fled beyond its borders. It is also the story of a broken family, victim of the dehumanization of Urraca and his wife.
