There's a psychological state often referred to as a mental illness that we are bound to forget with the passage of time, not even realising it most often. 'Wake Up' is a story about that. The repercussions of a drifting relationship between a child and his parents. Substance abuse is just an aspect used in this short film to depict the real nuance that the core theme makes.
