We hear how Midwesterner Chad Hartson, Ice Sculptor and owner of Ice Creations, makes and creates Ice art out of his Napoleon, Ohio shop. We will hear how Chad built his business from the ground up to the success it is today. We will see how he almost lost it all one cold snowy Ohio night. Finally, we will see how ice brings communities closer while watching it carved and the tools of the trade in action at a local winter festival. This documentary will highlight the story of an artist, a sculptor who has built a successful ice carving company, Ice Creations, over the last two decades along with his family. Chad Hartson, the former president of NICA (National Ice Carvers of America), started his dream with a deadline of five years to make it or go back into food as a chef. Viewers will learn how ice is sculpted into 3-D art, become familiar with the tools of the trade, and discuss the role of CAD and the CNC in ice art. The documentary discusses rough times when Chad and his family almost lost it all one cold and snowy Ohio night. We will also see how the artistic sculptures produced by Ice Creations bring communities closer and help to get people out to enjoy the winter weather together.
