American Symphony (2023)

In 2022, musician Jon Batiste is one of the most celebrated musicians of the year, with 11 Grammy nominations. However, he faces an ambitious creative challenge, composing "American Symphony" reimagining the classical music tradition, while supporting his partner Suleika Jaouad's struggle with leukemia and dealing with his own mental health. Filmmaker Matthew Heineman offers a poignant portrait of the couple as he reflects on art, love and the creative process.
