The life of the rebellious Dida is marked by precarious conditions, violence and massive problems at school. But she has a dream: a new life with her mother, who lives in the USA. A cheap ticket to New York becomes her obsession, and Dida fights tooth and nail for every cent. But a cruel revelation throws Dida's life into chaos, and the pain drives her to an unimaginable act.
