Karl Gerhard, born Karl Emil Georg Johnson (1891-1964) is one of Sweden's greatest cultural personalities. Through his long track as an actor, writer, theater director and entertainer, he came to reflect an entire era in Swedish entertainment history. Swedish 20th century history cannot be written without taking into account the phenomenon of Karl Gerhard. In addition, through his authorship, he has characterized and reflected the view of Swedish society and culture for more than five decades.
