The carpenter Eva Jensen wants to make a completely new start on the Baltic Sea. The Hamburg resident has happy memories of the holiday region. That's why she wants to take over a workshop there so she can become self-employed. Unfortunately, the sellers are divided: While the advertiser Heide wants to accept immediately, her ex-husband Hinrich wouldn't even dream of giving up his workshop for beach chairs. In order to change the 75-year-old's mind, the Hanseatic woman seeks a conversation with the stubborn man. Even in the village, which actually urgently needs a carpenter, the new one is having unexpected difficulties. With the help of the school caretaker Trine, from whom she rents a holiday room, Eva begins to understand her neighbors and learns about a painful loss that has separated Heide and Hinrich. Eva likes the kite surfer Christian. Eva initially takes a sporting approach to the fact that he is a competitor for the workshop.
