Unsere alten Tage (1990)

Frieda and Erwin Schinke are moving into a small room in an old-people's home. They say good-bye to their friends in the familiar neighbourhood, arriving at their new home and meeting some of their new neighbours. The film describes how senior citiziens feel in a society in which youth and success are the important prerequisites. Filmed during the days before and after the 7th October 1989, signs of the GDR's collapse are apparent.
