The trajectory of the warlord who ruled Brazil for 19 years, eight of which in the period he himself called the Estado Novo. Tracing a time line that goes from Vargas student in Rio Grande do Sul to the suicide at Palácio do Catete, in 1954, Getúlio do Brasil shows more than 30 hours of interviews, testimonies collected from historians, political analysts, journalists, relatives and people who lived with the president. The documentary gathers images made in Porto Alegre, São Borja, Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, including scenes from the time and testimonies provided by the National Archives. According to the directors, even after half a century of his death, there are still many secrets surrounding the figure of Getúlio. The documentary reveals, for example, the invitation for him to participate in the Yalta Conference, which took place between 4 and 11 February 1945, on the Crimean peninsula. Winston Churchill, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin, representatives of the three winning powers, met in order to map the post-war future of the world. In a moment of political instability, Getúlio chose to stay in Brazil.
