The Pasadena Community Playhouse (1932)

A documentary film depicting the work and administrative processes of the famed Pasadena Community Playhouse, one of the premiere theatrical institutions in the United States. Founding producer Gilmor Brown and business manager Charles F. Prickett (brother of actor Oliver Blake) are shown going about their jobs. Then the process of choosing, casting, rehearsing, and performing a production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night is depicted in short scenes. Scenes from various other Playhouse plays are briefly seen.
