Ghostly George

Landing in the suburbs of New Jersey the week before starting high school, friendless Georgiana (George) Boyce decides to create a better version of herself. After a trip to the mall, George witnesses the quintessential high school archetypes of the suburbs in their nihilistic glory: girls palming stolen makeup, boys slouching into arcades, and adults on shopping sprees. After a lazy bicycle ride into the woods, she encounters a crew of delinquent burnouts, drinking stolen beers and leafing through old porno magazines. Equally disgusted and drawn in by them, George begins a shaky friendship with the boys, who quickly adopt her into their world of mayhem and existential angst. James, the leader of the group, offers advice to George on how to navigate the tricky labyrinth of suburban life. As she grows more aware of her surroundings, she joins the local soccer team in hopes of befriending a popular and beautiful squad of girls. The girls take her in, offering a dizzying ride of petty theft , drinking, and promiscuity.
