A streetcar motorman in a Canadian city is shown carrying out his job, mostly in operating the streetcar for paying passengers. He is only one of several motormen operating within a network of streetcars on a set schedule. On this day, this motorman risks getting behind schedule early in his shift as he needs to deal with the idiosyncrasies of his very diverse group of passengers, who see him as the face of the streetcar company. As such, he often gets the blame by his passengers for any problems regardless of if they are of his doing, and hopefully gets as much praise from said passengers for the overall operation of the streetcars.
