We follow several people who in one way or another are engage in or fascinated by extreme sports. Or who experience extreme events. It's everything from the woman trying to set a new speed record by car. There is a man doing base jumping. Or the war photographer who travels into a war zone. What do they have in common? How do they experience stress and dangerous situations? And why are they willing to take a calculated risk that could cost them their lives? We also meet professor and philosopher Arne Næss. He talks about why people seek out risky experiences from a philosophical point of view.
