Candy Rain is a chapter from the new album "The Hunt for the Gingerbread Man 2: Get the Dough", which embraces the juxtaposition between a fantastical world made of candy and pastries, and the dark and unforgiving lifestyle of the veteran emcee Percy Carey a.k.a. MF Grimm. The ancient art of rain making represented the sacred relationship between humans and the Divine, to understand these traditions is to understand the sacred connection that our ancestors have with the land. He who brings rain, brings life, and life is more powerful than death. Rain is seen as a sacred and phenomenal gift, the most explicit expression of Nature's providence. Every transcendental act of nature maybe occurs as in fulfillment of something that is arranged by a silent will, stronger and greater than ours. Sonically immersive, and nostalgic of an era in hip hop that celebrates pain and hardship through whimsical storytelling, this album reaches deep into the life of the protagonist Mr. Ginji Breadman aka The Gingerbread Man - and doesn't let go until you've become fully invested in his tumultuous life journey in the United Cakes of America. Anthropomorphic cookies, pastries, and gingerbread men are the primary characters in MF Grimm's tales of violence, crime, drugs, and love, in the ghetto known as Candyland.
