The Confessor (2019)

Rev. Johnson a thirty-five year old priest loses his sister and only remaining family member at the hands of some armed robbers. His efforts to get the police to bring the culprits to book prove abortive, as they made no serious efforts to hunt down the criminals. Disappointed in the way the Nigerian police handled the case, he went away for a while to try to heal and returns a year later to continue his role as a priest. 3 years later, he listens to the confession of an armed robber who narrates a brutal rape and murder of a girl, five years earlier. This brought back old memories and a battle with his conscience, faith and deep seated hate still lies in his heart. After listening to the confession of the armed robber, it becomes clear that he was one of the robber's responsible for his sister's death. He decides to take the law into his own hands by finding all the men responsible for his sister's death and make them pay for their actions. This new development sends chills down the spine of members of the community, as the police and the people begin to wonder if they now have a vigilant or just a murderer.
