The Other Side of Fear (2021)

The Other Side of Fear is a darkly comic tale about Patient CM, an exuberant young woman with a rare brain disorder that has rendered her literally fearless. Uninhibited and over-excitable in company, privately she is lost, haunted by a life defined by illness. Objectified and alone, she desperately craves companionship. Attracted to a charming junior neurologist, she agrees to participate in a series of bizarre experiments designed to test the limits of her fearlessness. But these trials are overseen by a ruthless, ageing, alpha-male scientist who becomes vexed by his inability to unsettle his spirited patient. Her excitement increasing with each experiment, he resolves to scare her regardless of ethics or consequence.
