Ambitious and accomplished sous-chef Lisa Brody is busy pursuing her dream of owning her own fine dining restaurant in the big city. But Lisa's ambitions hit a roadblock when her very well-connected boyfriend Anton decides to start interfering with her career and she quits her job. A short trip to check out an inheritance and plot her next move becomes something more as Lisa is drawn into the life of a small town full of funny, exasperating, strong-willed characters. There's Grace, who runs the local museum, and Charlotte, who would very much like to run, well, everything. Gina, whose Aunt Vera is having some kind of midlife motorcycle crisis, and one very charming schoolteacher named Jim. Soon Lisa begins to consider a new dream, one that still has room for ambition, but also community, friendship, fun and maybe even a new chance at love. Unwilling to be left behind, Anton hatches a plan to draw Lisa back to the city. Will she turn her back on her new friends to pursue her old ambitions? Or is Lisa ready to embrace a new definition of success?
