On August 12, 1978, a delegation from the Swedish-Kampuchea Friendship Association led by Gunnar Bergström and Jan Myrdal, arrives at Pol Pot's Democratic Kampuchea. On their return to Sweden, the Khmer Rouge communist revolution is described as a model for other countries. After the Swedes' visit, it is revealed that almost two million people, a quarter of the population, have been executed or died of slave labor, starvation and disease during Pol Pot's just over three and a half years in power.
