Mario Venuti is one of the most important Sicilian singer-songwriters living and still in activity. Born in Syracuse in 1963, his career in the field of music began at the end of the seventies, when, accompanied by his friend Tony Carbone, he played in Catania in several cover bands (coming to perform even for the U.S. military stationed at the base of Sigonella) until 1982, when, together with brothers Gabriele and Luca Madonia, the two friends founded the Denovo. The artistic partnership between the four will last less than a decade and, in 1990, with four albums, an EP, hundreds of concerts and acclaim from the public and critics, the four decide to end the experience of Denovo. Four years later, in 1994, Mario Venuti will debut as a soloist: it will be just the beginning of a long and successful career, during which he will realize among other things ten albums and a collection. QUALCOSA BRUCIA ANCORA (Something is still burning), as the title of one of his most successful songs, wants to be the cinematographic opportunity to go back over these more than forty years of life, music, passion and anecdotes, discovering the musician and, perhaps above all, the man. A journey on tiptoe between the folds of time and memories along the imperceptible line of fate that wanted to accompany Mario Venuti in this wonderful journey into the world of music and entertainment. The spectator will be able to hear directly from the voice of the singer-songwriter, interviewed exclusively for the occasion in a scrupulous and exhaustive way, everything that has characterized this professional and life path, what has marked him the most, who has accompanied him and how he has lived these years and every single important event. A story far from the media hyper-sensationalism typical of our days, but conducted with extreme respect for personal and professional experience, through the search for an extremely refined and elegant narrative, with special attention to those who have shared with him, even if only in part, with infinite affection, friendship and esteem these years. All in the name of a style and an aesthetic sober, strong and rigorous, which can honor the history of this special man and professional without ever overpowering it. A unique journey through time and events that will leave space for both visual, with long and slow tracking shots in subjective made with the suggestive and refined technique of camera-car, and narrative, through anecdotes and references always original and compelling, even to the city where the Sicilian singer-songwriter has chosen to live, what in the 90s was renamed in the media The Seattle of Italy: Catania, pivotal and essential element in the narrative of his life. In addition, there is a meticulous and exclusive selection within the vast material that makes up the personal archive of the artist, discovering and showing documents often unique and unpublished that represent an absolute preview for the public. This work also uses as soundtrack the indispensable music of the Sicilian singer-songwriter, from the time of the first recordings with Denovo to today, as a further tool and opportunity to narrate what is and represents the man and his music within our history in the first place and the music in general in the second, but essential, beat.
