Pitching (2022)

Reese, a new TV writer dreams of being the next big thing, and his opportunity arrives when Mr. Nilsen, a big-time TV exec enters ready to hear Reese's pitch. Nervous but excited to finally be close to his dream, Reese quickly realises this industry isn't for the faint-hearted when Mr. Nilsen shouts at the receptionist, Chloe, for forgetting to offer Reese a drink. As the attention turns to Reese he must press on and pitch. Afterwards, his confidence is lifted as Laura, Mr. Nilsen's assistant, comments that this is what they are looking for. Mr. Nilsen sees the confidence in Reese and things turn sour very quickly. Mr. Nilsen confronts Reese for his lack of experience and his idea not being up to standards. Then he delivers the final blow; fire Chloe, the receptionist, and take her place whilst continuing to work on his idea, otherwise he'll never work in this industry. He leaves Reese with an impossibly hard choice, fire Chloe, a girl he doesn't even know, and retain his dream, or possibly never achieve his dream.
