Lumberjacks in the Massif de la Chartreuse forest discover a man's body, suspended puppet-like by a system of ropes. Heading the investigation, Justine Verard has to work with Mehdi Djaoud, whom she considers responsible for the death of her husband, a detective inspector, during a mission that went seriously wrong.
