An appreciative audience of infants and adolescents are watching puppet show, which is a jumping off point for the discussion of what it takes to put on such a show, most specifically that of the marionette puppets which are extensions of the puppeteers standing above them behind the curtains. This specific show is the creation of puppet maker Micheline Legendre, she and others in the profession who can let their imaginations run wild into the realm of fantasy. The show entails making the puppets themselves - marionette bodies generally carved out of wood - coming up with a story, having the puppeteers learn how to make the specific movements of the puppets to fit the story, and piecing together appropriate music and designing and building the sets. Ms. Legendre often uses her discerning infant nephew Jacques as a critic before she opens the show to a wider audience.
