Johnny, a hard worker and critical thinker, rejects anything in his life that may interfere with his time and therefore his work. Johnny sits at his desk stressing about his work, he forces himself to continuously focuses on his tasks and goals, even though underneath all of his tunnel vision and ambition, there lies a somewhat distressed and unfulfilled feeling which Johnny has not yet come to terms with. We flash forward to present day ( Post accident ). It is Johnny's Birthday and he is surrounded by his carer and close friends and family. Johnny (in his wheelchair) is given a birthday cake with candles, it is evident on Johnnys face that he is brimming with a youthful sense of joy. As we flash back, Johnny's friend Christopher is trying to get through to Johnny who he is speaking to on the phone. Is it clear Johnnys attention is elsewhere. As Chris tries to explain to Johnny that he needs a break from work, Johnny crosses the road, without looking and its made clear that he is hit by a bus. We flash to present day and that same friend Chris stands beside Johnny who is in a wheelchair. They are by the lake. Chris encourages Johnny to look at the swans ahead of him, Johnny, who looks slightly disassociated from his surroundings, eventually catches a glimpse of the swans and with a seemingly delayed reaction, appears to garner a sense of excitement out of nowhere. We flash back and see the light of a computer screen shining on Johnnys face, he has a slightly dejected look about him as he continues to work away. We flash to present day, and we see Johnny laying on his bed as he looks toward the ceiling. He appears to be filled with contentment and a unique type of joyous wonder. He lifts his hand up toward his face and makes a circle with his fingers - his telescope. He puts his telescope over his eye and continues his glare at the ceiling.
