In late medieval time switzerland was involved in an European war. mercenaries where hired for fighting in foreign countries for the kingdom of france and the Habsburg empire called the holy roman empire. the conflict escalated to an European civil war because it had become impossible to do justice to the big warring factions and the mercenaries had to fight against each other on both sides of the warlords. The documentary "Dornach 1499 - Mercenaries in Endless War" shows and explains the political situation and development of the old Confederation within the Holy Roman Empire. A time of mercenaries and countless conflicts in the so-called "Swabian War" that culminated in the Battle of Dorneck. The biography of an exemplary professional warrior "Heinrich Wolleb" can be relived in this historical documentation. The film was made as the first part of a trilogy about the important history of Dornach in connection with the history of Switzerland in 2020.
