In SOMMERBARNA, filmmaker Linn Helene Løken explores her mother's untold story and the programme she was part of. In 1957, a four-year-old girl named Gaby came from West Berlin to Sandefjord in Norway to spend the summer with a new family. She was one of about 70 000 children sent to Norway and Sweden during the Cold War, in an attempt to reconcile a continent still impacted by WWII.
