The coffee industry sits at the center of American life and the coffee shop is a hub that brings people together. No Single Origin is an award-winning short documentary film by HOME Storytellers that follows Tennessee native, Doug Hewitt, founder of 1951 Coffee Company, as he turns to the coffee industry to build a launchpad that supports refugees starting a new life in the U.S.. Three graduates from 1951 Coffee's Barista Training Program share their experiences. A profound friendship unfolds when the four stories converge, highlighting the importance of human connection, community driven support, education, and integration. This film was created to raise awareness on the challenges refugees face in early resettlement and bring support to initiatives like 1951 Coffee Company who is not only providing refugees with barista training and job opportunities but is also making their cafes a loving and supporting home for newcomers.
