Sweden, 1942. German troops march in from Norway across the border. Two Swedish recruits, Erik Lundberg and Jens Sahlström need to travel several miles on foot in a forest full of German soldiers to reach safety. At the same time, they are trying to understand the reason for this unexpected attack.
