Anthology of nine souls on their way to death is a black and white poetry short film that puts in narrative a selected body of poems by writer Edgar Lee Masters and his published book Spoon River Anthology. Originally published in 1915, is a collection of short free verse poems that collectively narrates the epitaphs of the residents of Spoon River, a fictional small town named after the Spoon River, which ran near Masters' home town of Lewistown, Illinois. Selected shown poems are based in nine on the cemetery residents and their stories by the poems. In the film, Andy the night watch appears as omniscient and carries us through the history of each resident and parts of their life and eventual death.
