Tabaluga and Leo (2003)

Every 1000 years, when a particularly bright sparkling star appears in the sky, the Greenlanders celebrate their grassland festival. This time, Tabaluga will be the master of ceremonies. When he collects the flowers of a unique rose for his grassland festival chain in the mountains near the ice world, he hears cries for help. At the last moment, he can rescue Leo, a human boy, from Arctos's power. Tabaluga takes Leo with him to his friends, who are in the middle of the festival preparations. Leo escaped from the orphanage because he was the only child not fetched by foster parents for the Christmas holidays. He fell through a hole in the snow and landed in the ice world. With Leo's help, Tabaluga can save grassland, and the two become real friends. As Tabaluga learns that Leo could be happy in the human world, loving foster parents are already looking for him. Tabaluga has little time to realize what is best for his friend and make the right decision.
