The Route (2019)

Maurice walks about his merry way to deliver a letter to Gwen. He hears a gunshot from inside the house and has a moral dilemma of whether to investigate and try to help or to ignore and move on. He decides to investigate and breaks into the house himself. He encounters the first robber and in a flash of uncharacteristic violence overpowers him and leaves the robber unconscious on the floor. He hears the second robber and panics, almost losing his resolve before reaffirming his earlier decision to be the hero. He engages the second robber and with the help of the homeowner Gwen defeats him. Maurice leaves the residence shaken, but proud in what he accomplished by doing the right thing.
