In a story passed down to her from her mother of their indigenous Greenlandic roots, Anori (one of the many terms in the Greenlandic language for wind), a singer in a small three member combo, has always believed that cleansing oneself in the pureness of nature would ward against all evil. That belief will be tested when Inuk, Anori's fiancé who works for the Arctic Guard patrolling the waters off the coast of Greenland, almost drowns in a workplace accident, he, teetering on the brink of death, transferred to a hospital in New York City in a coma. As Anori stands vigil next to Inuk's hospital bed, the story of their romance from their meeting is told. Also standing by her and by association Inuk's side is Malik, Inuk's colleague and best friend, who was the one who pulled Inuk from the water, and who has had his fair share of pain and tragedy in his life, arguably the most painful being the suicide of his last serious girlfriend, Anika, three years ago. Anori's fight to save Inuk from the evil that has struck him can only be won if she knows the strength of and the direction from which that evil wind blows.
