Eugenia, 17, wants to leave Venezuela, a country in chaos and in general crisis. To obtain the long-awaited European passport, she goes on the trail of her unknown Italian grandfather, on a 500 km road trip with Luis, an intriguing and inaccessible young man, with whom she lives a brief and tragic teen romance, sealed by the promise of an appointment in Rome, 13 years later. Eugenia, now an adult, debates whether or not to fulfill that promise. A story of the Venezuelan diaspora scattered throughout the world. A journey that explores nostalgia, uprooting and the complex and unpredictable pursuit of happiness.
