Cesar and Ruben (2017)

The musical Cesar and Ruben brings to life Cesar Chavez, the most iconic Chicano activist in the U.S. His human side is exposed through contemporary songs and dialogue created by Ed Begley Jr.'s Cesar and Ruben, a tale that humanizes Chavez, showing his challenges and joys through the dialog with Ruben and the songs selected for the musical. The play also re-creates instances in the life of the main characters that haven't been told before. The story shows that although our heroes aren't perfect, there is commitment and passion for the community.
