Superstition around Skanderbeg's miraculous abilities to escape serious injury and death follow him back to Albania and are only intensified by the people's remembrance of his mother's dragon dream. Although Skanderbeg has continuous issues with the country's nobility, the common people love and support their Dragon Warrior who they believe can't be killed in battle. Skanderbeg's extensive knowledge of Turkish military tactics is put to use again not long after his first battle against the Turks when scheming Venetians, who also wish to control Albania, form an alliance with the Ottoman Empire to make a two-pronged attack on the small country. Skanderbeg, his coalition and the local populace engage in outright confrontation and hit-and-run guerrilla warfare to beat back both armies and drive them out. In response, instead of continuing to send troops that are soundly defeated, Sultan Murad himself brings an army of 100,000 directly into Albania to crush his former prized warrior. Skanderbeg finally comes face-to-face with his former liege in an epic standoff but the Dragon Warrior wins the day once again. In the midst of the long fight for freedom, true love finally graces the eternal warrior's life but also causes a familial rift. New betrayals and scheming also arise, but Skanderbeg eventually wins a long-sought respite for his country that lasts...until a new sultan arises in "Skanderbeg: Legacy".
