The People Versus The People is a documentary film that seeks to look at how we as oppressed groups have internalized certain toxic behaviours, often operating from a place of hatred. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. The film shines a light on various internalized conflicts that exist within us that are a byproduct of systemic racism, patriarchy and a classist capitalist system. The film explores how these inner conflicts exist as a result of the absence of a deep sense of self-worth, a lack of a deeper understanding beyond very simple and romantic notions of love. It presents the idea of love as an instrument of liberation, healing and ultimately the capacity to transcend and see beyond.
