When My Demon Speaks (2018)

Kirk wakes up and continues his work on his graduate essay. His demon, Business, appear, as always. Business begins her daily insult, which Kirk ignores, until his secret is brought up by her. Kirk stands up, angered by her mention of Mary, his girlfriend, which enrages Business. She stands up to belittle and stare down Kirk, whom reacts with sympathy and acknowledges Business' fear of abandonment, as he feels the same way with Mary, as well. Kirk takes Business' hand. Business tries to muster some words in response, but is cut off by Mary returning home. She immediately senses something wrong when she sees Kirk standing in the living room alone. They hug, and Kirk tells her that he is not okay. Mary says that she'll put her groceries down first, then they can talk. Mary leaves, and Business appears next to Kirk again. She is surprised by Kirk's confession, which Kirk replies, "I know." Mary returns to the living room, grabs Kirk's hand, and leads him to the bedroom. Business, now standing alone in the living, says, "You do know that I'll still be with you, right kid?"
