Bloody fencing duels, sprawling drinking bouts and pithy male slogans characterize the image of fraternity members. Outer markings at official festivities such as old-fashioned caps and colorful ribbons on the jacket look antiquated. The members of a fraternity are regarded as right-wing conservative elite academics who protect each other and form secret cliques. They are supposed to systematically occupy the switchboards of business and politics in order to establish an authoritarian nation-state. The activities of the various associations include not only colorful leisure activities, but unfortunately also right-wing mindedness. The documentary sets out to find out to what extent the clichés are in line with reality and to what extent democracy is endangered by fraternities.
