After losing her father to Alzheimer's, well-known Australian journalist Renée Brack confronts her own fears and prejudice about dementia but soon begins to wonder if she too might have inherited the disease that killed her father. Renée risks her career and dignity by undergoing medical experiments as a human lab rat to discover the truth. While on this precarious journey, she discovers wonderful ways to stay connected to people with dementia, Renée finds hope for the future of those living with it and she lets go of her grief by reconnecting with the beautiful paintings her father did during the course of his early life and through his illness.
