Texts From The Dead

Cassie returns home from the funeral of her boyfriend, Josh. She receives several text messages and ensures everyone she just wants to be alone. Then gets a text from Josh's phone. She is furious someone would impersonate him just after his funeral. He insists it really is him and begins giving her information only he would know, including how he embezzled money to get seed money for his new app. She realizes it really is him. Calls him immediately. He can't answer even though all she wants is to see his face and hear his voice. He warns her that the two men who tried to kill him are on the way to get her. Cassie tries to leave the house, but two men pull up just as she is leaving. Josh calls 911 and tells her to hide. They find her anyway. As Cassie is being strangled to death, Josh sends her a video on how to break a strangle hold by forcing the attacker's hands apart and kneeing them in the groin. She does so and gets away long enough to say her only line. The killers hurry away as red and blue lights appear. Cassie begs to see Josh. He tells her he loves her. Reveals the men wanted to kill him over his new app: an OS that could mock the personality and responses of any person. Cassie has been interacting with it the whole time. They successfully killed Josh. His last wish is for her to delete the app. It's too dangerous. She doesn't.
