Day (2019)

Ty, a university student living in a dormitory, is in love with his next-door neighbour, Brenda. Every morning, he waits for her to go down the elevator for class, though they seldom share words. We see Ty going to class, studying at the library, and watching his cartoons with his signature dinner: instant noodles. In the evenings, he watches her come back home from class through the peephole in his door. On one day, his lecture gets cancelled, yet he still decides to go down the elevator with Brenda. That evening, however, things change when he doesn't get home at her usual hour. The next morning, she is also late to get to the elevator. When Ty decides to go down without her, she finally joins him, along with Chris -- someone who supposedly spent the night with her. Ty, in a depressive state, is distracted for the rest of the day, playing the few words she's spoken to him over and over in his head. The next morning, he stays in bed through his alarm. After hearing Brenda's door shut, he decides to get up and watch her through the peephole. She gets into the elevator, but as the doors close, she suddenly holds the door open. She sticks her head out, waiting for Ty to come out. After a few seconds, she disappointedly lets the elevator doors shut. Ty smiles, knowing that she might be thinking of him as well.
