Beyond Head Over Heels (2016)

This is the first Beyond event I have watched since Biff's farewell show the past September and it shows how important a venue is to a federation's vibrancy. Outside of the main event that barely squeezed past three stars, there is nothing on this card to recommend unless one likes to watch Suge D get destroyed by 2016's rookie of the year Matt Riddle. The ten man was crap, Death by Elbow/Da Hit Squad was marred by overly cute booking that stemmed from how the bookers planned to end the evening, and of course, the absurd over-proliferation of elbows. I never felt Hero understood that Misawa only over-did the elbows because by that point his body was deteriorating to a ruin due to wrestling over 100 contests for 16 of the 22 years he had been in this sport. Seriously dude, even in the construct of a professional wrestling match a couple of well-placed elbows would knock out your opponent. Obviously, DbE is not one of my faves. Gresham is such a smooth, well-versed talent it's a shame he's stuck in anything with Veda Scott. I think Kimber Lee is OK but ridiculously over-pushed and I don't buy she would outwork and pin Cabana even if how they ended the farce was ok. This show didn't do it for me.
