The Void (2019)

Emma's family celebrate her younger sister, Tilly's fifth birthday - a day that not only signifies the birth of a life, but the loss of one. Five years ago, Emma lost her mother to cancer in virtue of her decision to postpone chemotherapy and pursue her pregnancy. Though Tilly had subsequently filled the void in Emma's life, Emma can't help but wish to see her mother once more - even if that means sacrificing her sister in the process. Re-enacting one of her father's magic acts, Emma attempts to bring her mother back by making her sister disappear. What appears to be a simple magic trick, leads Emma on an adventure into the darkest depths of her mind, where she learns the importance of family and letting go, along the way.
